Letter from KZN-MBC

Dear Rider,

On behalf of the KZN-MBC I would like to wish you all the best for 2010. We are looking forward to the MTB season ahead, and our Chairman, Donald Paynter, will be sending out a news letter next week.  Of particular importance right now is 2010 licensing and hence the note below.

The 2010 CSA license system is now open at MyRace (www.myrace.co.za) and after a few issues, I believe is now working well.  On behalf of KZN-MBC I would like to appeal to you to support the licensing system and get yourself licensed.

Why
By licensing with CSA you contribute to the efficient administration of both CSA and KZN-MBC.  Half of the fee you pay is used by CSA for administration and the provision of your license card.  The rest is given to KZN-MBC for our administration purposes.  The new KZN-MBC has been hard at work, and will be detailing plans and projects to you in the news letter next week.  A lot of work has been done on land access agreements and we will be making an announcement on this too.  However, in brief, all licensed members off KZN-MBC are now covered by a new liability insurance policy, during recreational riding, which covers certain issues of extreme importance to land owners on whose land we ride (part of your license fee).  Also by licensing, KZN-MBC has a voice at CSA through licensed members, and this is important for democratic representation.

Cost
There are two licenses available, and for most people the R75 Cyclosport license is all you need.  This allows you to partake in any race and get all the benefits, and avoid day license issues.  For the riders that want to race, and accumulate points, a full racing license is available at R300.

Process

Please click on the link that has been provided below or go to the MyRace website.  If you were licensed last year, simply log on and buy your new license.  If you were not licensed, you will need to register first. During the process you will now need to choose your discipline. This is very important, as it will determine representation at CSA.  If you do not have a secondary discipline, you can leave that blank.  You will also be asked to select your club.  I have managed to get most of the KZN clubs registered, and they are on the system (way ahead of all the other provinces I see).  Once you have chosen a club, they will be asked to confirm your membership before your license is approved.  Once your license has been approved, it will be sent to your club.  I will also make sure that license information is available at races and that licensed riders are supported by KZN-MBC.

Thank you for your support in this matter and we look forward to seeing you at the races this year.  The latest KZN race calendar will be distributed with the news letter next week.
