Wow!! Well done to the organisers
We started the race on a very cool midlands morning, given the weather we had the whole weekend in the midlands, we were expecting another Hill to Hill ! , however much to our delight the conditions were perfect!!
Oh yeah buy the way I forgot to mention, “Sharks rule “sorry for you Blou Bulle!!
The mouths were a bit dry on Sunday morning thanks to the sharks being crowned Currie cup champs!! Well done boys we are very proud of you.
Ok , Back to the Race !
The race was hard from the start, the front bunch of Guys and Ladies went out really fast , the mens front bunch soon rode away , our bunch stayed together most of the race , together with the front lady we cruised through the course , The track was absolutely insane, a bit slippery! But nothing that caused too much trouble.
The organisers really pulled out all the stops, there were still a few sections that gave the competitors a reminder of how hard last year was.
The weather really played its part, no rain in sight, thankfully the sun slowly dried up the course as we worked our way to the finish.
The water tables were really well positioned, just when the juice ran out there was a table there to top up the water bottle.
After the race i sat with my kids who did the 20 km race and my wife and her friends who did the 10 km races , everyone had such good things to say about the event , the watering tables had everything they needed , and when they came across the line they got a medal and juice. They were really impressed with the event on a whole , the registration , the race and the finish , Well done to the organisers, we all can’t wait for next year’s race
