Race Report: WALLY BODIN
The Durban Toyota Cyclelab Supercycling Academy had fantastic results at the weekends SA Track Champs held in Cape Town's Bellville Velodrome.
Under 10 rider Cameron Wright proved he is one of the most complete schoolboy cyclists in the country. Amongst his National MTB title and silver medal at SA Road Champs, he also managed 3 out of 3 track titles. The youngster won the 3000m scratch race, 1500m and 500m time trial... 2 seconds off Bernard Esterhuizens SA record! Both the scratch and 1500m bunch races were combined with the under 12 category and he finished a very respectable 3rd overall against the under 12 riders.
His brother Daimon Wright, did not disappoint either. Daimon only committed to track racing as part of his cross training in March this year. While Daimon was not fortunate enough to win any u12 medals at the champs, he rode his personal best 500m time trial by a massive 4 seconds and finished 1,9 seconds off the winners time.
Junior lady Lauren Burnett known as a track specialist, rode to a number of medals as well.
Congratulation for the remarkable results team!
